Tomorrow is a New DAY, When you fall off the wagon....
We all go through it. You buy the book, the journal, you set the date, you convince yourself that this time you will not fall off the wagon in regards to your eating or exercise plan.
In your mind you visualize yourself “ crushing it “ planning, prepping , taking your vitamins and supplements and not missing a beat. You can do this to achieve your end goal.........
Then reality happens, stress, sickness or a flare up and just like that you fall off the wagon.
I don’t know about you but have you felt like “ I’ve stuffed up and my one off plan meal on friday turned into a weekend free for all.
Then for us ladies (sorry men) you know that lovely time of horror that comes around every month and the killer cravings monster comes out to play. Where you eat everything in sight or you hardly eat but when you do its usually not paleo or primal. Let’s be real the good intentions are there, but they have disappeared by the way side whilst this hormonal imposter takes over for a while. What do you do? Men this is for you to as we know you are not immune either. The first thing is “ forgive yourself “
Poppy and I have realised over a long time that we need to change our way of thinking and forgive ourselves. The second thing that we believe is very important is to accept whats happened there and then and don’t feel bad. Its just a small blip in your health journey.
Ditch the guilt that makes you think ‘ well I’ve already ruined my diet so I may as well keep eating anything and everything in sight and start on monday. Take it for what it is and realise yep I’ve gone off plan and that’s ok because my next meal will be on plan and do it. Its all about changing your mindset and realising YOU are not a failure.. It just happens. So many times we read if you fail to plan then you plan to fail an whilst we believe it whole heartedly because it is important to be prepared, we also have to face up to the fact that we are not perfect. We are human. If you really struggle with ongoing cravings then a visit to a naturopath, nutritionist or integrative GP who can help you identify any nutritional or hormonal deficiencies that are a contributing factor.
Implementing small changes can be extremely helpful. Why not bake a batch our Protein Cookies to have on hand for those cravings or one of our Primal Core Protein shakes and you will find it easier to get back on track due to the satiating protein content in our shakes and cookies...
Just remember we are all masterpieces. Don’t let anyone tell you any different.
